This is a sci-fi film that is super interesting for the choices made. You’ve got a ‘pussyfied’ society with no meat, no salt, etc. Bio-metric, self driving, electric cars that explode when you short their batteries and will override your commands. Cops that don’t know how to fight. Corrupt political leaders. You’ve got a marginalized society that has the original sin of needing to eat. You’ve also got the alienation of people from each other through screens and electronics – this is very concerning topic for post covid generations of today…

Note that this is a 1993 film! Don’t tell me the producers of this film are merely future seers. This is a dog whistling film from back in the day for the situation we find ourselves in today for 2023. (Perhaps, thanks to Trump, the go live date for this plan was actually 1997?)
