⚓ Health Sickness and wellness 📅 2024-10-02 👤 mchammer 👁️ 39Thought I’d try to open a discussion here on ideas of how to transition your kids off of carbs. See Christi’s interview and talk about how she did this with her kids
One of my kids likes eggs, so this is easy. She also likes pork or beef rinds too. So, easy entry foods. Going on what I’ve heard suggested from others, after waking up, we are all generally in a fasted state since last eating at dinner. Trick here is to offer a breakfast that is zero carbs! It is a natural place to introduce the satiety and feelings of surviving off of fat and protein.
My other child, not a strong burger fan, eats steak, won’t eat eggs, won’t eat bacon port or beef rinds. He will eat hot dogs! Just discovered that. So, gave him the choice one morning for either steak or hot dogs. He chose hot dogs. I fried a left-over hot dog in lots of lard and offered it up plain. He loved it and was satiated until Lunch, and wasn’t even interested in lunch that much. Success!
And yes, you can get quite good health hot dogs, there are a few things to look for, they are discussed here.
